Good Pathways was founded in 2013

Elaine has 20 years of experience working with children, individuals and families. She started as a social worker in a family service center and social service agency. To grapple with the multi-system issues of low-income families, she embarked on a diploma in Marital and Family Therapy at Counselling and Care in 1996. She later joined the Ministry of Community Development Youth and Sports, working with children and families referred for therapeutic services from the Child Protection Service.

Elaine graduated with a Masters of Social Sciences (Social Work) in 2004 and is registered with the Singapore Association of Social Workers since 2011. She received her training in Play Therapy from the Old Dominion University, Darden College of Education in 2010 and is registered with the Association of Play Therapy Singapore. Elaine is also a certified Attachment-Focused Family Therapist with the Attachment-Focused Treatment Institute. She is also an accredited Triple P facilitator for the Positive Parenting Programme.

As a certified Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner, Elaine offers EMDR therapy which has been evidenced to work well for children and adults with anxiety, depression, and trauma induced difficulties. Elaine also completed her training in Sandplay Therapy and offers personal growth and deep insight - oriented therapy for adults and children stuck in stagnant situations.

At present, Elaine spends most of her time seeing clients and training when the opportunity arises. She actively volunteers in the community through special projects and post adoption-related interests . As a trained and approved clinical supervisor registered with Play Therapy International/ Play Therapy UK, Elaine works with professionals by providing guidance and facilitating the learning journey of social workers and social service practitioners. She is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is a trainer for Psychological First Aid for Children.

Elaine is happily married with two children.

  • Prisilla Tang

    Prisilla spent more than a decade in the corporate world hosting major events in the Middle East, China and South Korea. She witnessed first-hand the effects of uncared mental health on otherwise physically healthy people. The realization spurred her interest to navigate to the mental health industry. She is proficient in counselling with English and Mandarin-speaking clients. She works with children and adults on emotional, behavioural, relational, and parenting issues. Her therapy works pivot on trauma (specifically attachment trauma and trauma-related issues), mood swings and self-esteem issues. She adopts an integrative approach of evidence-based interventions using Psychodynamic theories, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR Therapy, Play Therapy, and experiential activities.
